SELECTING A POWER-ENTRY MODULE
Engineers in charge of designing electronics and electrical appliances can save time (and money for their companies) by incorporating power-entry modules (PEMs).

POWER I/O CONNECTOR HANDLES 50 A PER CONTACT
The Pwr TwinBlade power I/O connector system carries up to 50 A per contact. Offered in right-angle and straight cable exit options, the connector supports wire sizes of 6 and 10 AWG.

PCB TERMINAL BLOCKS FIT TIGHT SPACES
A line of microminiature PCB terminal blocks is available in 3.5- and 3.81-mm spacing, suiting designs where space is a commodity.

INTEGRATED POWER CONNECTOR SUPPLANTS DISCRETE SOLUTIONS
With seven machined contacts each capable of handling 15 A, a stacking connector comprising a single integrated power connection with a series of stackable modules can eliminate up to five separate proprietary power and signal cable connectors.

  POWER-ENTRY MODULES SUIT REAR PANEL-MOUNTING
The C20F, DC12, and KFA power-entry modules include filter cases with a solid metal flange and enable rear panel-mounting.

POWER-ENTRY MODULES MOUNT TO THE PCB
Designed for PCB mounting, the DD21 and DD22 power-entry modules are available with either one- or two-pole fuseholders for 5 x 20-mm fuse-links.

  FUSE MODULE SUPPLANTS CIRCUIT BREAKERS
The 600-V Ultrasafe fuse module suits 45-mm-wide IEC contactors. The 3-pole fuse module allows finger-safe fuse changes and can replace circuit breakers in applications such as motor starters.

POWER ENTRY MODULE IS SEALED FOR IP 65
Featuring IP 65 seal protection, the Series 5707 filtered power-entry module resists dirt and dust as well as sprays, splashes, and jets of nonagressive liquids.

  SURGE-PROTECTION MODULE SHIELDS DSL SYSTEMS
The Transformer Protection (TP) module integrates a filter choke and two PTC thermistors to offer surge-current protection for DSL systems.

RELAY AND FUSE MODULES SUPPORT HIGH-CURRENT APPS
Designed for the transportation industry, the 33700 Series PRM power-relay and PFM power-fuse modules support high current and are housed in a compact sealed body.

  PRODUCT ROUNDUP: Wire and Cable
The following products serve to illustrate some of recent developments in wire and cable.

  SPECIFYING HIGH-PERFORMANCE CABLES
Temperature range, shielding options, durability, and flexibility should all be taken into account.

SPECIFYING CABLE FOR YOUR NEXT DESIGN
The first consideration is whether the design is for domestic or international use.

SELECTING POWER CONTACTS FOR POWER APPS
Precision-machined pins provide a secure, powerful interface.
