  Implementing PoE - Chips and Chipsets

  100-V PoE controller suits IP phones and WLAN systems
The TPS23750 PoE controller combines the functionality of the company's TPS2375-powered device controller with a primary-side dc/dc PWM controller.

  Pondering PoE
Aside from the fact that Power over Ethernet can provide power to network devices right across the Cat-5 cables, many have a limited understanding of the standards and implementation involved. The benefits of supplying power over the Ethernet cable cannot be ignored.

  Implementing high-power PoE
Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) allows power and data to be carried over a single Ethernet cable, so a device can operate solely from the power it receives through the data cable. This innovation allows greater flexibility in office design, higher efficiency in systems design, and faster turnaround time in set-up and implementation.

  Micrel Makes Major In-Roads With Quadruple Play Ethernet Solution
The KSZ8842-PMQLI Ethernet IC has been integrated into the new AMD Geode™ LX EPIC Reference Design Kit (RDK). The KSZ8842-PMQLI is the industry's first 2-port Ethernet switch with 32-bit PCI bus interface in an industrial temperature grade. The Ethernet solution, launched in September 2005, is aimed at embedded and industrial networking applications.

  Micrel Rolls Out Four New IC Solutions For Embedded and Industrial Ethernet Applications
The KSZ884x series is part of the 2-port and 3-port Switch/Repeater family launched in June and July of 2005 and round out the Company's Embedded Ethernet offerings.
